Title in Pediatrics AMB (2008), Title in the areas of nephrology: Pediatric Nephrology by AMB (2012) and Intensive Medicine by AMB (2021). Assistant Pediatric Nephrologist at Santa Casa Misericórdia de Cuiabá/MT (2011). Coordinator of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (2020) and the Pediatric Line at Santa Rosa Hospital (2023). Letter from the President

It is with great enthusiasm and honor that we welcome you all to the long-awaited XX Brazilian Congress of Pediatric Nephrology, which will take place in the warm city of Cuiabá. This event is a crucial moment for the exchange of knowledge, in-depth discussions and fruitful collaborations between the most dedicated and talented professionals in the field.

Throughout the days, we will have the opportunity to explore the latest scientific innovations, share clinical experiences and debate fundamental issues affecting the practice of pediatric nephrology. The comprehensive program includes conferences from renowned international and national experts, cutting-edge research presentations in the form of “Free Theme” and interactive round tables, which are sure to enrich our understanding and enhance our skills.

The innovative Pre-Congress, contemplating the practice of Peritoneal Dialysis in a unique way, promoting quality delivery and safe administration of this therapeutic modality.

In addition to professional enrichment, this conference also offers a unique chance to establish lasting connections with colleagues across the country. We hope you make the most of this opportunity to strengthen existing bonds and cultivate new friendships within the pediatric nephrology community.

Dr. Lilian Monteiro Pereira Palma

Graduated in Medicine from the University of São Paulo (1994), medical residency in Pediatrics and Nephrology from the Children's Institute of the University of São Paulo (specialist title in 1999) and PhD in Nephrology (Area: Renal Transplant) from the University of São Paulo (2006). Clinical Coordinator of the Kidney Transplant Team at the Campinas Medical Center. Pediatric Nephrologist at Clínica do Rim from 2012 to 2018, scientific consultant for Thrombotic Microangiopathies (Alexion Pharma) in Latin America. Currently, she is an assistant physician in the Pediatric Nephrology Department at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) where she develops the Genetic Pediatric Nephrology service. Main Area of Study: Thrombotic Microangiopathies and Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome. Coordinator of the Pediatric Nephrology Department of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology. Associate Editor of the Brazilian Journal ofNephrology. Co-owner of LUME Nephrology and Dialysis in Campinas.

Dr. Maria Goretti Penido

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG (1980), Master's degree in Child and Adolescent Health Sciences (2000) from UFMG. Postdoctoral fellow at the Bone and Mineral Disorders Clinic and Research Laboratory, Section of Pediatric Nephrology, The Childrens Mercy Hospitals and Clinics, University of Missouri at Kansas City, School of Medicine, in the United States. Head of the Pediatric Nephrology unit of the Nephrology Service and residency preceptor at Santa Casa de BH. Advisor of the Postgraduate Course in Child and Adolescent Health Sciences at the UFMG Faculty of Medicine. She is a reviewer for the Revista Médica de Minas Gerais, the journal Pediatric Nephrology, the journal World Journal of Nephrology and the journal Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation, is part of the Editorial Board of the Brazilian Journal of Nephrology (0101-2800) and is part of the Latin American Association of Pediatric Nephrology. Coordinator of the Pediatric Nephrology Department of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology.

Dr Nilzete Liberato Bresolin

Graduated in Medicine from the State University of Londrina (1984). Specialist in Pediatrics, Pediatric Nephrology and Pediatric Intensive Care. Master's degree in Medical Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2004). Head of the Pediatric Intensive Care Service (1991-1995 / 2008-2011). President of the Santa Catarina Intensive Care Society (1995-1997) and Vice President in the 1998-2002 administrations. President of the Santa Catarina Society of Pediatrics (1996-1998 / 2004-2005). She is currently a doctor at Hospital Infantil Joana de Gusmão, assistant professor level 3 at the Center for Health Sciences at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, subject of Pediatric Nephrology since 2007. President of the Nephrology Department of the Brazilian Society of Pediatrics (2010-2012) and Advisor to the International Society of Pediatric Nephrology. Coordinator of the Medical Residency Program in Pediatric Intensive Medicine at Hospital Infantil Joana de Gusmão and President of the Miguel Salles Cavalcanti Study Center. He has experience in the area of Medicine, with an emphasis on Pediatric Nephrology and Pediatric Intensive Care, working mainly on the following topics: acute renal failure, urinary infection, high blood pressure and sedation and analgesia.

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (2002), medical residency in Pediatrics from the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (2003-2004), medical residency in Pediatric Nephrology from Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo (2005) , improvement course in Pediatric Nephrology at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo (2006), improvement course in Pediatric kidney transplantation at Hospital Samaritano/SP (2014).

Dr. Clovis Francisco Constantino

President of SBP

Clóvis Francisco Constantino is the first vice-president of SBP, where he has worked as director of Institutional Relations, in addition to having participated in the Department of Bioethics as president twice and twice as secretary. He presided over the São Paulo Pediatrics Society (SPSP) for two terms, was president of the Regional Council of Medicine of the State of São Paulo (Cremesp) and vice-president of the Federal Council of Medicine (CFM). Dr. Clóvis has a PhD in Bioethics from the University of Porto (Portugal) and is a full professor at the Santo Amaro University, in São Paulo (SP). Coordinator (Head) of the São Paulo Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics of the Department of Portuguese Language Countries (Portuguese Language Countries Division of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics). Full Member of Chair 122 of the São Paulo Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Maria Tereza Fonseca da Costa

Financial Director

Dr. Maria Tereza Fonseca da Costa is the current secretary general of the SBP, having already held this position in other administrations. Between 2016 and 2022, she was financial director at SBP. He was president of the Rio de Janeiro Pediatrics Society (Soperj). PhD in Public Health from the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, she is a retired pediatrician from the Ministry of Health and the Municipal Health Department of Rio de Janeiro. She is a professor at Universidade Estácio de Sá/IDOMED, in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

Dr. José Andrade Moura Neto

President of SBN

Graduated from the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health in 2011. He has a Residency in Clinical Medicine (2012-2014, HFA-RJ), Nephrology (2014-2016, UERJ) and Renal Transplant (2016-2017, UERJ), with an MBA in Health (2014-2016, FGV-RJ) and Masters in Administration (2016-2017, EBAPE-FGV). In 2017, he passed the title test of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology (2017). In 2020, he was awarded the honorary title of Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology (FASN). Editor of the books: Renal Replacement Therapy: Controversies and Future Trends (Nova Science, 2018), Renal Replacement Therapy 2 (Balieiro, 2019), “Nephrology Worldwide” (Springer Nature, 2021) and "Issues in Kidney Disease - Dialysis" (Nova Science, 2021). He is associate editor of Blood Purification (2020 IF = 2.614), editor of Visual Abstracts of the Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology (2020 IF = 8.237) and section editor of the Brazilian Journal of Nephrology. In 2022, it had more than 450 citations on Google Scholar and 40 academic publications, including book chapters and articles in journals indexed in Pubmed/Medline. In association politics, he was Vice-Director of the Dialysis Department of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology (2019-2020), President of the Bahian Society of Nephrology (2020-2024) and Northeast Vice-President of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology (2021-2022). Internationally, he is a member of the KDIGO working group (2021-2024) to update international guidelines on anemia in chronic kidney disease and the board of directors of the International Society for Hemodialysis (ISHD, 2022-2027) He works as a nephrologist in Salvador, partner -director of ONA 3 accredited renal replacement therapy centers in Bahia and assistant professor of Clinical Medicine at the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health. Currently president of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology – SBN (2023-2024).

Dr. Lúcio Requião

Secretary General Representative of SBN in Congress

Graduated in Medicine (2001) and Residency in Clinical Medicine (2004) from the Federal University of Bahia, Residency in Nephrology (2006), Master's degree (2008) and Doctorate (2012) in Sciences from the Federal University of São Paulo - UNIFESP. Adjunct Professor of the Discipline of Nephrology at UNIFESP (since 2020) and coordinator of the Teaching and Research Center at Fundação Oswaldo Ramos - Hospital do Rim (since 2023). He is editor of the Treatise on Nephrology, published by Editora Atheneu in 2018. He is President of the Nephrology Society of the State of São Paulo SONESP (2021-2024) and General Secretary of the Brazilian Society of Nephrology - SBN (2023-2024). At SBN he was First Secretary (2011/2012 biennium) and General Secretary (2013/2014 biennium) of the National Board and full member of the Education and Degree Department (2019-2020 and 2021-2022 biennia). At the Brazilian Association of Organ Transplantation - ABTO, he was coordinator of the Kidney Transplant Department (2017/2019), and is deputy coordinator of the same department (2020/2021 2022/2023). He was a full member of the Transplant Technical Chamber of the Ministry of Health (from 2011 to 2018). He has experience in the field of Medicine, with an emphasis on Clinical Nephrology, Kidney Transplantation, Glomerular Diseases and Chronic Kidney Disease.
